Jeff Brunner
“It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.” -Theodore Roosevelt
Jeff has extensive litigation experience, having worked as a lawyer since 2000. Earlier in his career, Jeff was an insurance defence trial lawyer, but now enjoys the privilege and challenge of working as a family lawyer assisting individuals and families. Jeff is a passionate advocate for his clients and a firm believer in Resolve Legal Group’s collaborative approach to the practice of family law.
Though Jeff is a proud third generation Calgarian, he still loves to travel. His travels have seen him visit four continents and done everything from white water rafting on the Zambezi river in Zimbabwe, Africa, to snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Jeff also has a background in singing including stints with the Calgary Opera Chorus, the Young Canadians and even a disco band.
Before obtaining his law degree from the University of Manitoba, Jeff obtained a B.Sc. in Ecology at the University of Calgary. He also has a French Immersion Certification upon completing high school. Jeff has a long history of charity work, having, among other things, volunteered with Calgary Legal Guidance as a volunteer lawyer and participated in the Alberta Law Society’s ‘Law Days’ mock trials.
Jeff aspires to live “a life worth living” and hopes to do so by giving back to his community and investing in those around him. Jeff hopes to see Costa Rica someday, where he can see volcanoes, oceans and monkeys – a scientist’s dream! Jeff loves that his career allows him to be a problem solver and enjoys the satisfaction that comes from helping people through their challenges.
Jeff’s current involvement includes:
- board member with the Better Business Bureau
- board member with Big Hill Haven – Cochrane society supporting victims of domestic violence
- member of New West Symphony and Chorus
- regular volunteer lawyer with Calgary Legal Guidance
The best compliment Jeff has received about his work is: “When I am told that I have come up with an innovative solution to a problem.”
