Cyndy Morin

Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, she became a butterfly.” – Anonymous

Prior to her legal career Cyndy was an experienced counsellor working with families and youth in numerous capacities. Cyndy is an active volunteer in the community; she currently sits on the Canadian Bar Association Access to Justice Committee, Co-Chairs the Calgary – Crowfoot/University Youth Justice Committees, has served as the Calgary Law Day Co-Chair for two years, and is a regular annual Law Day volunteer. Cyndy also became the driving force behind Calgary’s first Family Law Fair in 2011, bringing world-renowned speakers to an open-access forum aimed at giving the public a wealth of information on a multitude of Family Law issues. Cyndy’s commitment to ensuring all members of the community have adequate and affordable access to justice led her to leverage Resolve Legal Group to form its Saturday Legal Coffee Breaks seminar series on a variety of family law-related topics. Further to her community efforts, Cyndy teaches family law courses through a joint initiative between Chinook College and the Alberta Law Foundation. Cyndy is also an author, and online radio talk show host on Tenacious Living Radio’s “Your Family Matters” which airs every Wednesday at noon. Cyndy’s additional skills as a certified Family Mediator and Private Investigator also add value when representing her clients.

Outside of her practice, Cyndy is a mom to three, a Padi-Certified Open Water Diver and Private Pilot with a Seaplane endorsement. Cyndy’s passion for both the law and aviation lead to her involvement in a grassroots project called “Just Air,” an initiative which combines the skills of lawyers and pilots to volunteer together in an effort to provide pro bono legal clinics to remote and marginalized communities throughout the province. Cyndy is also an active member of the Flying Lawyer’s Association, the Calgary Flying Club, the Canadian Owner and Pilot’s Association and the “99’s” –an international organization of women pilots.

Cyndy assesses the range of dispute resolution methods available to each client in order to provide them the service that best responds to their unique situations and desired outcomes. When assessing which method will best meet the needs of a client, Cyndy takes into account the individual financial, time-sensitive, parenting, and emotional needs of a client, while considering any potential challenges to proactively assist the client through what is often a very difficult time. By recognizing the importance of empowering individuals to make their own informed choices, Cyndy can resolve matters without court action, but is comfortable using a court process to achieve a desired result when necessary.
