Lindsay Doucet

Senior Associate

Born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, Lindsay earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Ethics at Laurentian University before completing her Master of Arts degree in Philosophy at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. Lindsay then completed her law degree at the University of Ottawa. After articling exclusively in criminal defence law, Lindsay was called to the Ontario Bar in 2014. She moved to Calgary, Alberta the next year, where her mother, 4 siblings, and nieces and nephews had decided to make their home a few years earlier. After being called to the Alberta Bar in 2016, Lindsay worked in association with Mainwood Legal Services for a number of years, practicing mainly in the areas of criminal defence, family law, and child welfare matters.
Following a period away from practicing law during which she focused on her health as well as her passion for academics, research and teaching, Lindsay discovered that she missed practicing law and felt that she still needed to be of service. With a renewed focus on collaboration and alternative dispute resolution, Lindsay is practicing in all areas of family law, with a special interest in family law cases that intersect with criminal matters and the state, including Emergency Protection Orders, allegations of family violence, and child welfare. Her experience as a criminal defence lawyer gives her a unique perspective on family law issues and you can be confident that whether it is a settlement meeting, a negotiation, or trial, you will be represented by a highly skilled courtroom advocate. Lindsay chose to join Resolve Legal Group because of their focus on clients’ whole lives and the services they provide that go above and beyond what typical law firms provide to clients.
Lindsay always leads with compassion and empathy for her clients, and listens attentively to not only her client’s instructions, but also to their emotional cues to try and see the bigger picture and discover what each client’s particular needs are, responding with cost-effective options and long-term strategies. Lindsay is an eternal optimist and believes that there is always a solution to be found if one is willing to pay attention and think creatively. As Lindsay’s mother always said about her, Lindsay knows how to make sense of the “grey;” that space between black and white where change, growth, and creative solutions happen.
Whatever your matter is, you can count on Lindsay to provide you with exceptional service, compassion, and fierce advocacy on your behalf.
