“Strive to be 1% better every day.” This personal motto guides Emmanuel Adelaja’s approach to both his professional and personal life. He believes that continuous improvement comes from consistent learning, discipline, and reflection. This mindset has driven Emmanuel to seek opportunities to grow his skills and knowledge and has helped him make meaningful progress in his legal career at an early stage.
Emmanuel is currently a student-at-law at Resolve Legal Group and will continue with the firm as an associate following his call to the Alberta Bar in 2026. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Leeds, graduating with a 2:1 between 2018 and 2021. In 2023, Emmanuel began the accreditation process through the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) and successfully obtained his Certificate of Qualification in 2024, enabling him to pursue admission to the Alberta Bar.
Emmanuel has demonstrated a strong commitment to community engagement and access to justice. He has volunteered with Calgary Legal Guidance, supporting individuals who face barriers to accessing legal services. He is also an active member of the Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council (CRIEC), through which he secured his articling position at Resolve Legal Group through the Internationally Trained Lawyers Pathway to Employment Program.
Originally from Nigeria, where he spent his early years, Emmanuel brings an international perspective and appreciation for diverse communities to his legal career.
Outside of the office, Emmanuel enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle through fitness and has a strong passion for sports, particularly soccer, football, and basketball. He maintains his belief that he is the best cook at the firm and, dare he say, in the entire Calgary as well.
