“It is really a privilege to be a lawyer, to be in a position to have the training to try to make the small universe of an individual better.” – Justice Rosalie Abella (Ret.)
Areesha is a student-at-law at Resolve Legal Group who approaches the practice of law with a deep appreciation for the human stories that shape legal disputes. She believes that effective advocacy begins with attentive listening and thoughtful understanding, and she brings a reflective, client-centered perspective to every matter she encounters.
Originally an internationally trained lawyer, Areesha completed her master’s in Canadian law at the University of Toronto and successfully fulfilled her National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) requirements in 2025. Her professional journey reflects resilience, adaptability, and a strong commitment to navigating legal systems across cultures and jurisdictions. She is currently a Member-at-Large of the Real Property Section of the Canadian Bar Association, where she engages with ongoing developments in real estate law and contributes to professional discussions. She has also been actively involved with various think tanks and non-governmental organizations advocating for the rights of underprivileged communities and minority groups. These experiences have strengthened her belief that the law can serve as both a professional discipline and a meaningful instrument for social equity.
Her interest in family law and real estate law developed early through an internship completed as part of her undergraduate legal studies. She also gained valuable experience working with an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) firm, where she developed a strong appreciation for the role of mediation and arbitration in resolving complex disputes. Areesha joined Resolve Legal Group because of the firm’s commitment to mentoring law students to achieve excellence, and its dedication to serving clients through principled and thoughtful advocacy, values that strongly resonate with her.
Outside of her professional work, Areesha enjoys literature, painting, music, and spending time in nature. She has a strong interest in developing her linguistic abilities and is fluent in English and Urdu, with conversational proficiency in Punjabi and Hindi. Recently, you might find her exploring the surreal worlds of Kafka, rediscovering ancient myths through Madeline Miller’s works, or walking Alberta’s trails while observing the quiet patterns of nature.
