Legal Assistant

We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world. ~ Buddha

During an interview, someone once asked me what success meant to me. They were quite surprised when I replied “happiness.” That moment started my journey with Resolve Legal Group in a way. I was hired that day at an IT company that conducts business with Resolve Legal Group.

Working as an office manager at the IT company, I developed a wonderful relationship with everyone at Resolve. The ongoing joke was that one day they would steal me.

During this period of my life, I was dealing with my own family law issues and navigating the Court system as a self rep, no easy task. I finally hired a lawyer at Resolve to help me with some ongoing child support issues and attending a judicial dispute resolution. I was told at that time by a few team members at Resolve that I should consider a career in family law as they were impressed with the work I had already done on my own file.

One of my passions has always been helping others in need, so I took a chance and went back to school to become a legal assistant. I then found a part time job in traffic ticket defense, which taught me to navigate the courts and start building wonderful connections.

A short time after graduation, the office manager of Resolve and I had been discussing a position available. I of course jumped on the opportunity.

I have always taught my daughter to chase your dreams and not to be afraid to take a chance, so what better way to do it than leading by example?

During my off time I enjoy yoga, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, off-roading and quadding. During the spring and summer I enjoy weekends at our family cabin/trailer. We love the outdoors and nature, so every moment is spent enjoying it.

Some of the places I would love to travel are France (for my love of their history, culture and wine), Ireland (to visit family and connect with my roots), and Hawaii (for my love of paddle boarding and surfing).
